Update, since the C8 HTC got back from having all 16 valve springs replaced, and the disinfection process done. The car is running excellent, won't be to many miles here in ILL, with the Z51 one package--- warm days are ending. Might get a few short drives in. So for those with minor issues, hope this helps. Once the problems are corrected, the car runs and handles well, equal to perhaps even better than the Maserati Bora and Merak's I've had over the years. Good machine.
One strange note, for everyone. The onscreen vehicle manager has the option of motor sounds. One being stealth, but the owners manual clearly states selecting this option could lead to damage. Not quite sure why it's a selectable option if damage can occur. Question for some research.
Don't use stealth on track. It can put too much heat in the muffler. When the valves are closed it forces the exhaust through a small hole in the main pipe into the muffler chamber and out the inner tips. Some tracks have noise limits so some people may be inclined to try it if they got flagged by the decibel meter.

I have a 1980 Merak SS with a bad transaxle. Great car, used to be my daily driver. I was going to focus on getting it back on the road but then the C8 came along. Now I have to get enthusiastic about getting the transaxle replaced.
Need help on the Merak, just yell. Lot of info stored away on parts and places. I have a 79 SS on my project list for ground up restore, need more time.
My HOME button appears not to work at all. The touch screen home button works but the button under the **** does nothing. The problem is, I cannot use Apple Car play without this button working as its stuck in Apple Car play mode without it.
Not a big deal but it would not surprise me if the dealer says the entire module has to be replaced. I'll wait a while to bring it in and see if anything else goes wrong.

Read the manual. It might be programmable- 1 option may be to do nothing - turned off. I recall options like this, don't remember about this button specifically.

I don't think so. I've watched videos of how its supposed to work and my home button does literally nothing when pressed when I try to do the same things.

It definitely should take you to the home screen when you press it. I'd take it to your dealer and have them write it up. They'll most likely have to contact GM on what to do about it. Could be a simple re-flash or they might have to replace the unit.
Are both buttons inop?
if only the physical one (top left), possibly a wire connection broke loose. If it is the other one, problem - software or physical - will probably require replacement of infotainment screen.
Buy another 2018, clearly obvious you will not be happy with the C8 if God himself, blessed the car. You decide it's going to be a bad, sure enough it will be.
OK guys, here it is. Leaving golf club after picking up food to go. Driving on two lane road thru residential area with 25 MPH speed limit. Going around right turn when a BMW 3 series conv appears in my lane. He pulled to his right and so did I. I struck his left rear fender and stopped just before going off severe drop to the golf course. BMW driver stopped for about 20 seconds and then ran off. A driver behind me stopped and stayed until police arrived and confirmed my story. BMW side molding left in road in my lane.
Car has been at the Chevrolet dealer collision center for over three weeks. They tell me parts are not available. Apparently any body part needed has to be ordered and then built by a supplier that is already behind on orders. They have everything except a steel clip for the front fender. They say that when body panels are removed they cannot be reused. They took the V emblem off the front and cannot replace it. Does anybody have a connection to chevrolet that might be able to help with this issue. Dealer is Watson Chev in Tucson AZ. Thanks
Holy Crap, man I'm sorry to see that. I hope things get better. I've seen a few sights with the new emblems, but did not read in detail. Keep us posted, please. I was wondering about how big of deal it is to repair damage on these with all the new composite body parts. Not like the old days, when the fiberglass guy started laying in new pieces and forming it up. I feel for you guy. Couple years ago I sold my Maserati Bora to a museum for this reason. I was to worried some idiot might hit it and parts on those are few and far between.
You should also make note, the car will now be tagged in data bases as damaged. Carfax etc. You go to trade it in a few years, dealers will beat you down a few grand because of the report .
Blade silver 3lt, Z51, mag ride, at 5,300 miles these are my problems. I had a protruding passenger rear quarter panel. My dealer authorized it to go to the local GM collision shop and a bracket was not attached properly, fixed. Had the check engine light issue but it repaired itself! The latest is the dash no longer changes between any of the driving modes and there is no tire information available, just says hold to recalibrate.
The dealership called after 24 hours and are working with GM via email to fix "programming issues ". Oh almost forgot about the mother of all pot holes in Michigan the bent a front rim. Guess that's not GM's fault though.

More clarification on this statement that body panels cannot be reused. Are they saying that an intact body panel if removed cannot be reinstalled? Because we know that not to be true - a vendor here removed everything body panel to paint them & then reinstalled without issue.
Also why cannot they not reuse your emblem - it’s held on with double sided tape. These are removed for Xpel installation and reinstalled without issue as well.
They tell me that the panels have plastic projections on them that slide into holes on the under panel. When panel is removed these **** break off. Same response for the emblem. They also said the panels could be installed using “after market” fasteners. Probable a nut and bolt but, originality would be lost. That may be how the vendor is doing it. This is the dealers story!

Totally wrong... Corvettes are "body on frame" in that the exterior panels are not structural and can just be unscrewed; other than the rockers which are bonded to the frame. Just look at the videos at this link where a forum member who owns a body shop painted his Krypton Green. Every panel is re-used.
I've got paint defects most evident on the rear lid, but also present on the frunk and both doors. From certain angles, in most lighting conditions, there is a faint banding that matches up with the panel substructure.
It turns out to be a problem called adhesive bond-line read thorough and we will see what the body shop can do about it.

I’d honestly find another dealer because they don’t appear to know what they’re doing.
Please don’t think I haven’t thought about! I just got a call from the dealer and was told they have been able to order the clip which is the only part they need. It will ship from Dearborn MI in 6 days and will cost $73. A metal clip? Unbelievable.
