Yep, you'll fit 18x9 with 5" backspace easily then. On the front it will probably (almost certainly) rub the chassis rail/sway bar at near full lock, but really shouldn't be a problem.

I went with 19” forgelines for the rear with 4.9 back spacing with offset trailing arms and it’s very close to the frame rail and body.

The car has stock trailing arms, VB&P Performance Plus suspension front & rear.

1.5" flares up front and 4" flares out back from Custom Image Corvettes.

Nice ride Curby... I am not big on flares, but I think you just won me over. That car is pure sex... luv the stance. I bet that is a looker on the street. (add some pics to your profile)
Love the flares and wheel combination! I think 17"s are perfect for an older corvette!

Default Keep ‘em coming

If you post pictures I’d encourage all to include the backspace, wheel and tire sizes !!!

and to be a hypocrite, I will post stats and no pictures, sold my last 80. I got another one I may do the same recipe.

my previous 80 had a set of BOSS 338 wheels.

rear we’re 18x9.5 with the 5” backspace, nothing special with 275/35r18 BFGs. Diameter of wheel avoided contact with the stock leaf spring and parking brake, but it was close. I did not have a rear sway bar.

the front I got a little curious and installed the regular 18x8 with a 4.5” backspace, Hated the sucked in look, thinnest hub centric wheel spacer (adapter style) was 1”. I threw it on and got a beautifully flush wheel that resembled the rear proportions ... looked amazing ...

moral of the story. Front 18x8 with 3.5 backspace fits on the later vettes with the wider font end.

My current 80 L82 will get 18’s and wither 9” all around or go 18x8 with a 3.5-3.75” backspace front and 18x9.5-10 with 5-5.5” backspace ...

I'm leaning toward possibly ordering custom wheels.

I'll be ordering 18x8 4in for the front, but what Backspacing do you guys recommend for 18x10 in the rear?
I have offset TA and relocated parking brake if that matters.

18x10 with 5.75 BS is what you want....look at my wheels that's what I'm running. Not sure about that 4" for the front..

18x8 4BS is the stock width and BS so it should fit.

Any rubbing issues with your 5.75BS?

I know Eric (Fleming23) had rubbing with his 18x10 5.75BS---> https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...thread-26.html

I do not but also depends on the tire and sidewall. I'm close but so far nothing.

Corey I'm running 18x9 -4.5 bs up front on my 69 with a stock suspension and 18x10-5.0 bs on the back with offset trailing arms. They are an excellent fit, no rubbing and the look of how wide the wheels are, well the car has got a lot of compliments. T

Thanks Terry, In that case I may kick the front up to 18x9.
What size tires? I don't want to impact my turning radius.

I knew that you were going to ask that question, so I went out and checked the sizes. 285/40s and 255/40s. I have the Borg steering box which some have said restricts the turn radius which I never noticed, but before the 2.55 R60s on stock rallies did rub on the frame with the OEM p/s. Definitely go up to the 9" fronts. T

Default Got 18 x 10 5.5 rears... need help...

After reading may posts I ordered 18 x 9 front 18 x 10 5.5spacing rear
The rears are not even close to fitting, The springs hit the rims huge... Sway bar also has clearance issue.

will the vansteel? short spring solve the problem? They also have a narrow swaybar that I am sure will work.

I really do not want to add spacers. I do not watn to tires to stick out too much...
