Dunno but cool
Harry Potter anyone ?
;-)
None have phones in the anymore. At least not that I found.
Grand Ol’ Opry
;-)
I think I got most of the seams. Next week I’ll finish it off. It’s not a work of art, but it’s better than it was, but it was already pretty good. I doubt I’ll feel any difference.
Hopefully I’ll have enough time.
I’ll need these.
Glad I found this over here. It only recently became available.
Pleased with this. I definitely was never comfortable with jacking the car up using the crossmember.
Tow straps to go with it and keep in the storage box

Gussets to reinforce, well, stuff. Dunno yet. I’ll see when I get there.
This was my greatest score. I was never happy with how I engineered the removable crossmember. Not happy that I cut the tubes either.
Work of beauty
This will do very nicely. Best take all my time to cut carefully.
Let’s see how well this works out.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Alrightee. A new day. Looking awful bare.
Careful location.
This is always the scary part. I have no idea what I’m getting into. So many things could go wrong.
Here goes nothing.
My !!
I could not have hoped for a better fit.
Excellent
The kit.
Some careful tweaking required.
This turned out to be super useful.
Prepping.
Spacers.
Bzzzzzzt.
Excellent
Location is still spot on
I’m happy with this
This hole near steering box needs to be filled.
3mm steel.
Here we go.
This was quite miserable. The steel seemed to be quite… weak ? I burned through and had to fill the gaps. Not pretty, but it will work fine.
Gusset time.
Well, it’s your fault you’re not here.

I hear tell that it is advisable to seal this hole.
On the thicker side, but it will do.
Ready to bzzzzt
Still needs more work, but a good start.
The first gusset goes on.
Sway bar reinforcement. Did not quite fit - I had to add a piece.
And why we are here.
Ready for bzzzzzt
A trick I learned from working on my Karmann Ghia. Time to disassemble the front suspension.
Not much left. But several more things to do tomorrow morning before it goes in.
A hole I did not see.
This one will have to be a patch.
All the seems are done.
This should do.
Time for a road trip.
And traffic !!!

Filthy. Spent a couple of hours cleaning this up.
Hmmm. I thought these were composite. Under several layers of paint: aluminum.
Clean… ish.
Damper comes off.
Frustrating. When I reinstall the pan gasket next time, I want it bone dry.
Looks good.
No clay, but a ball of aluminum foil should work fine.
And it did. I’m comfortable with this clearance.
Made in China no doubt. Surprisingly it did not leak excessively.
Chain still very taught.
Enough for today
