C8 Corvette Stingray stealth mode hack

This C8 Corvette Stingray wasn’t quiet enough for its owner’s neighbors, so he did this stealth mode hack to help with cold starts…

While there aren’t many things that we don’t like about the C8 Corvette Stingray, there are those out there in the world that don’t appreciate the sound of a roaring V8 coming to life. We can’t figure out why that’s the case, but the fact of the matter is, many of us have neighbors who don’t want to awaken to the sounds of an LT2 cold start early in the morning when we’re going to work, and some go so far as to complain about such things. Thankfully, YouTube Larry Lee has come up with a stealth mode hack solution to this problem that also happens to be downright hysterical.

As most are well aware, the 2024 Corvette E-Ray hybrid comes equipped with Stealth Mode, enabling owners to drive silently for a few miles if so desired. There are also plenty of cars out there with active exhaust, which typically incorporates some sort of quiet mode for those that need to tone down their engine’s sound from time to time. However, Lee wanted to make his C8 Corvette Stingray even quieter, so he simply added another exhaust system onto his existing exhaust system.

C8 Corvette Stingray Double Exhaust

Yes, the first thing that comes to mind is a play on Xzibit’s famous quote from the old MTV show Pimp My Ride – “yo dog, we heard you like exhaust systems, so we put an exhaust system on your exhaust system!” Like something straight out of a meme, this extreme setup looks cartoonish and downright ridiculous, and obviously, no one in their right mind would ever do such a thing. But Lee had the idea, executed, it, and shocking enough, this stealth mode hack actually works. Have a listen right here:

This Stingray’s exhaust note is much more muffled than before, which is because, well, it has an extra muffler attached to it. It’s a crude, simple, and downright silly idea, and one that precisely no one will replicate, but we love it all the same, and we imagine that at least some of his neighbors will feel exactly the same way.
