Driving out of a tunnel (e.g. lights were on automatically), all of a sudden all dashboard and infotainment went completely black. This lasted about 15 seconds, then everything came back on. THis has only happened the one time. 600 miles on the car.
Anyone else experienced a total instrument and infotainment blackout?
This happened to me at about the same mileage, although it was in bright daylight when the displays went black. Also, the analog gauges turned off. I now have 2450 miles on the car and it hasn't recurred. I had the dealer
check for codes, but nothing was detected.
Good to know. Mine issue sounds very much like yours, as when I cam out of the tunnel everything went dark. I don't recall if the gauges stopped working, but they were definitely blacked out. Hopefully it was an isolated incident. I'll mention it to the dealer when I see him (likely at a Corvette Club event).
OK, so on the way to the dealership to have them check out the PTM/Competitive Driving Mode/Launch control, I noticed the lights were out on my steering wheel. Volume controls were unresponsive, and trying to call up the voice prompt by hitting the voice button brought up an error message "Unable to launch voice application" or something to that effect. I took a nice picture of it, but when I went to go check it, the center DIC was completely black. Doh.
After arriving at the dealership, I turned the car off, then on again, and volume controls were still unresponsive. Gave them the keys, and the mechanic couldn't find anything wrong. Walked back to the bay they had it in, and sure enough the problem lights/volume/voice problem wasn't manifesting itself any more. Yuck.
Also, talked with the mechanic there. Their "corvette" guy. He didn't know how to get the PTM menu up, or how it was supposed to come up, so apparently they didn't check it before I picked up the car last Friday when it was "all done". (sigh) I understand it's a learning experience for them too.

You should probably explain to them what the acronym "PTM" stands for.
When he is not being the "corvette guy", he is likely being the "Impala guy", or the "Tahoe guy", and may not really understand all that system is or does. I think I prefer the system whereby the mechanics at the dealership are capable of working on all the cars, and have the training to either solve a problem, or find the solution from others.
Good luck with all that beta testing, and many thanks from one that didn't have the nerve to serve in that role.
.
Like I said, I had a conversation with the guy, and talked to him about it in detail. As to what it is, how it is supposed to work, what you should see. I just got a call from him actually, he said the car needed a software update, which he did, and now it works as I described it. As for the volume/voice/lights on the steering wheel, he couldn't reproduce it, so I'm picking it up tonight and will bring it back in when it resurfaces, but they opened a ticket on it for when I do.
These are my issues with my C7, VIN # 1533. Any specific issue help will be helpful, as I went through all 500+ post etc., and I see I have many of the same issues. Items 1 & 2 have been corrected after 7 days in the body shop. Items 3 through 7 not yet addressed by selling dealer.
1a. Driver door hit front fender, chipping the pain, had to be reset and touched up.
1b. The bolts for the left fender were not tightened at factory causing a loud poping sound when travelling rough paved streets
2. Underside of the carbon fiber engine hood not completely painted.
3. Does not always read the Ipod 5 or memory stick when hooked up.
4. When Ipod is bluetoothed can not use the steering wheel button to answer or make call.
5. Hatch / latch is much harder to close than that shown in the demo video.
6. Front brakes squeal at very slow stops.
7. Heat/ AC problems described in of the post. Can seem to override the cool air coming in when temp is 40 or less, enen manually. The A/C unit wants to stay on also.
any news on the door rattle issue? Sound and base are not even up half way, and both doors rattle (from the outside of the car) really bad. You can't tell from the interior ,but for some reason it's obvious something is wrong from the exterior.
I will be taking it to the dealer, but wanted to know if anyone else is reporting this issue within this thread. On another thread many people are experiencing the same thing.
FYI everyone, My dealer told me this is a known issue, and it's a easy fix. Only the first 3-4 thousand corvettes were effected by it. Should have it back shortly, and will repost if i'm still having issues.
Regarding the squeak: I'm getting the occasional squeak too. Been reading other posts, I think it's our baffles for the NPP. When I get time I'm gonna see if there's an easy way to oil the mechanism. If so, would be easier than going to the dealer, plus knowing I could handle it myself .
Happy Thanksgiving, Cruiter...update: I put about 40 miles on my Stingray Saturday (the 23rd) with my wife in the car...several observations 1) the volume of the chirp/squeak was diminished 2) occurred less often 3) I would alternate from Sport to Touring mode and this made no difference with frequency of the sound or the elimination of it. Most often the "chirp" was noticed at speeds less than 50 and I also heard it pulling from a Stop sign...almost sounds as if it's a rotating noise (I'm NO mechanic), but I have read about new brakes/pads rotors that may be the origin of the noise?? Winter weather has set in here at Central Pa. so She is in the garage for the duration of bad weather and anti-skid material.
Sounds like the best place for her in that kind of weather. I am going with the theory the chirp is from the muffler baffles rotating as they open and close. I agree it's 'mostly' at lower speeds.
I've just had too much going on lately to get under her in the garage and see if I could lube the mechanism in some way. I think everyone that has heard it also has NPP. But if I can get some 3&1 squirted through a straw (it's tight inside the box the flutes are in) at the exterior mechanism I bet it stops.
I'll be thinking of all the things I can be thankful for tomorrow. Best to you and your family as well and thank you.

i am in florida and notice that the condensation from the a/c unit is dripping right on my exhaust pipe then making this load hissing sound leaving this gross brown stains on my clean garage floor….also can't hardly see dash at night…any help
I think you'll find that if the trunk actually closed anywhere near as easily as shown in the video there wouldn't be a problem. I'll have to post a video of what it is really like when I get the car back from the dealer. My trunk would not close using any of the techniques that is shown in the video, not even close.
The later part shows him closing it on one knee using just one arm. I have to use two hands and put the full weight of my body into it in order for it to close.
How about if a door or window is open?
I was just at the LA Auto Show, and their coupe closed easily, but the driver's windows was open.
The chirping 3 times when taking the key out of the car while the car is running irks me to no end. Called a dealer, GM customer service and read the manual, no way to turn this off. It's a pain when switching cars at 5am and waking the neighbors up or when filling up at the gas station. You would think there should be a way for this to be on/off and not on all the time.
I found this happening on a Cadillac ATS I was renting. It must be a GM thing. Yes, the chirping is annoying, since it is fairly loud.
I found out by accident, if I left the driver's door ajar, even slightly, no more chirping.
Tail light squeek fixed. My passenger side tail light was squeeking. I noticed when I was cleaning the car that the tail light wasn't fully lined up with the bumper. I took it to Kerbeck and they fixed it in 5 minutes.

Both cars at L.A. Auto Show squeaked. I didn't see anything out of alignment with the taillights on the show cars. What exactly did the do to fix yours?

Love to know this as well. Mine does the same thing. Thx in advance.
Just a quick question to all those having PTM / Competitive Mode problems. Is the problem you are having it wont engage and did the reflash fix it? Thanks in advance
#108 Premiere edition at 520 miles had the screen go crazy and then go dark. Hendrick Chev was great they are going to replace but I have been advised it might do the same thing. February is the big fix. I will keep you posted on the results.
