Hold on, because you committed yourself & your C7 to simulate a take-off from an aircraft carrier!! If you look at the center console & it will say something like,

"Performance shifting enabled"

Now, you've made the traffic light & you jump out of the throttle just as fast as you got in it, but the transmission won't come out of the gear it's in & the engine just hangs close to redline.

You have 2 choices, the first I don't recommend because it's harder on the engine, but that's to continue with the throttle progression to the next gear. Problem is if you let off the throttle at all, you'll hang at redline for an abnormally long time because the transmission hydraulics will need to build up the pressure again before it will upshift. Second choice is to manually shift up with the right paddle shifter & you can also pull & hold the right shifter for a couple of seconds & it will put the transmission back into normal automatic mode.

Does anyone have anymore information on "Performance Shifting Enabled?" I think the message is actually "Performance Shifting Active." It appeared on my DIC after I aggressively accelerated the car. Could not find anything about this in the manual or a search of the forum.

Thanks

Z51 Vin Number 24161 Build date 5/1/2015 Crystal Red Metallic, Chrome wheels. 174 Miles. Punch list:
Passenger door always fails to close, unless you bang it.
Somehow they bent and dented the driver front splash guard. I found that when I replace the stock ones with aftermarket painted ones. Looks like they hit something with it. Going to ask for a replacement.
My seat cooling seems to work and then stop working.
Scratch on back driver’s side seat.
Bump in leather dashboard.

Lumbar support. VIN 1459
Every time I start the car I have to reset lumbar support to maximum.
I turn off the car.. get back in and lumbar support needs to be set again.

Can this be changed with a software upgrade... or do I have to
adjust the lumbar support every time I start the car.

Anybody else have this problem... or am I unique??
If I'm unique I'll take it in to my dealer.. if everybody's car
acts this way I guess I can only hope for a "software" upgrade in the future.

Since the panel comes in primer and its painted off the car with the factory paint, what difference does it make. And also, how is the next buyer going to find out its been repainted? I'd say 6 of one and a half dozen of the other. Either way would be fine.

Default Confused over lighting issue

My son drove my C7 around the corner onto our street. He turned on the right turn signal, and I noted that the right running light was out.

As he pulled into the driveway ~50 yards later, with no turn signal, both running lights were on.

He reports that today, when he was in back of another vehicle with his turn signal on, and could see the front of his C7 reflected in the vehicle in front, he noted that the right running light was off.

I have been unable to replicate this in the garage or driveway.

Any thoughts about is occurring would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

This is exactly how it is supposed to work. Blinker on, running light off; blinker off, running light on.

Thank you, Pittperson.

It is not a defect; it is a feature.

I suppose it would call greater attention to the intended turn.

Much appreciated

Some cars use an air bladder, not sure if Vette does but if it does it sounds like it isn't holding air.

Do you reset your driver settings after making adjustments? If you make any changes to your settings you have to do the reset for them to stay.

Default Burnt smell under acceleration

My C7 now has 3400 miles and has always had a Burnt Hair Smell after rapid acceleration. After the recommended break-in period, I noticed the burnt smell after hard acceleration. I took it to my Dealer who told me it was probably the exhaust system coatings burning off. The smell is getting worse and is present even after medium acceleration. I have never smoked the tires or got on the brakes hard.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what was the solution?

I tought it was air too...and was leaking... but my dealer service rep says it is a metal band that rotates.

Get another service rep!!!

He is dead wrong. It is an air bladder, and if he ever paid attention to one he could hear the air release when deflating.

Build date 2/28/14 3LT 6AT VIN 117118
Chalk up another to loosing the cooling seat function. I have an appointment with the dealer this Friday so hope it won't be a major problem to fix.

Has anyone else who had the problem gotten it fixed? If so what did it entail?

I have not had mine in for repair yet, but this should give you some answers: http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/?p=3229

Mine was built 2/13/2014.

The HVAC in my new C7 is weak in comparison to my 2005 C 6 that I have owned for almost 10 years. While the new Corvette looks fantastic, it is not as comfortable as the car it replaced. Unless some of these basic comfort issues can be resolved, I doubt I will keep this car long term.

The C6's have what I would consider a carbon type smell when you jump on the accelerator hard. This was a normal smell with many (if not all) C6's. We used to call it the smell of pure power.

Is it that type of smell or is it a stronger smell similar to burning oil? I have only had my C7 for a few weeks, so I have not really had a chance to step on the accelerator to see if I get the same smell.
